Targhee Fire, LLC was founded in 1997 by long-time Firefighter/EMT, E A Wright.
Targhee’s first projects were emergency services training, fire suppression, forestry, and all-risk emergency services for the the U.S. Forest Service (USFS, U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Additionally, Targhee began designing and fabricating specialty fire suppression equipment and entered a cooperative relationship with the respected emergency equipment supplier and fire apparatus manufacturer W.S. Darley.
Additionally, Targhee Fire develops public safety curricula and training programs that address specific organizational and operational needs.
For more than 15 years, the company’s field operations were based in Idaho Falls, Idaho with company offices and training activities based in the Seattle area of Washington State. In 2008, the company began public safety training and organizational development work in Africa. It has since completed African projects in cooperation with W.S. Darley, Sister Cities, Rotary International, and the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
Since its inception, the company has operated with commitment to respectful leadership, effective training, uncompromising safety, and skills mentoring.
E A Wright, Chief Officer
Mr. Wright served for many years as an emergency responder in emergency medicine and in forest, range and municipal fire suppression. He is an emergency services/all-risk response instructor and has taught for a variety of emergency response agencies and colleges including the U.S. National Fire Academy in Maryland, and Bates College in Tacoma, Washington. Mr. Wright is a U.S. all-risk National Incident Command System (NIMS) trainer and instructor trainer. In addition to numerous professional certificates, he holds a BA in Communications and Master of Education (M.Ed.).
Mr. Wright served with the Board of Directors of the African Chamber of Commerce of the Pacific Northwest in Seattle for many years and as a communications staff member in U.S. Congress and with the U.S. Speaker of the House. In addition to adult education in emergency services, he has an extensive communications and public affairs background working with government, private and United Nations NGO clients. He has completed a variety of projects in Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, Canada, Ireland, Scotland, Norway, Iceland, Nigeria, Cameroon, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Uganda.
